Frequently Asked Questions

What is RainDrop? +
RainDrop is an advanced cloud-based service that allows users to access their data remotely.
How do I get started? +
To get started, sign up for an account, download the RainDrop Client, and follow the installation instructions.
What is a Role? +
A role is an image of a current state of a RainDrop. The reason for a role is to have a standard configuration to deploy to multiple users simply and efficiently. A Role is kept within the Company level, so all buildings, departments and teams within that company can use that role to add RainDrops. Each role is billed $20 on a monthly basis.
What are office hours when creating a company? +
By default, your company's RainDrops can stay on 24/7/365. If you'd like to conserve energy and get a discount, choose an alternative office schedule to match your company's needs. NOTE: if you choose an office schedule every night, all RainDrops in that company will be shut down to conserve energy and started before the opening hours. This is completed automatically and if there are open applications with unsaved files at the time of office closing, DATA LOSS CAN OCCUR.
How does the patch management feature work? +
On the frequency selected, all RainDrops in this company will perform important updates only (security remediations recommended by the Operating system provider). RainDrop Users will receive daily notifications each of the 3 days before the updates. Updates are automatically performed at 1AM in the timezone of the company (using the address of the first building created in the company). Quarterly, First Sunday of the Quarter, Monthly: First Sunday of the month. You may also run manual updates anytime from the management engine, for one or as many RainDrops as needed. NOTE: This process reboots the RainDrops so unsaved work may be lost.
What if my dashboard continues to load in a loop? +
If you've just signed up, and you see a continual loading sign, this is likely a browser compatibility issue. Please log in using either Chrome or Firefox to use your RainDrop Management Engine's dashboard.
